Issue 1: Welcome
This bridge in my neighborhood was recently re-built after four years. The world has changed so much since.
We are all bridges.
We all have cracks to tend to, physical and mental.
We all need repair or regular maintenance over time.
Sometimes it’s necessary to do a complete makeover into the bridge we want to be.
We’re not the same bridges (or people) that we were four years ago.
It’s often best to let go of some of our old habits, relationships, hobbies, work, or lifestyle choices that did not benefit us.
To prepare our state of minds just in case any powerful storms, heavy rain, fire, or debris cause any damage to our structures.
To create a new path in our lives and careers.
To upskill with skills, tasks and experiences we didn’t have before.
To follow our own instincts,
and to avoid having others walk all over us,
telling how we should rebuild ourselves and what’s best for us.
To renew.
To refresh.
To rejuvenate.
To revitalize.
To remake.
This blog is about how to improve and transform ourselves in this fast-changing world and look within ourselves to make outward changes.
It’s about embracing needed change in the face of uncertainty.
It’s about acknowledging self-care and vulnerability to move on from past negative experiences, traumas and struggles.
It’s about refreshing your state of mind when feeling stuck (such as writer’s block for this blog!)
As I have learned from working in the busy fields of public relations and marketing:
Don’t forget to take care of the most important client of all:
Yourself
Coming up next issue: Living with purpose, which will reference a Disney Pixar movie…
